All-natural phenomena result from a cosmic dance between energized particles and gravity, electromagnetism, strong and weak nuclear forces. Physicists represent this cosmic dance in the language of mathematics. The mathematical equations are the choreography of the cosmic dance. They represent the precise actions between particles and forces that make up the dance. The choreographers are the physical laws of nature. Life can be viewed as a cosmic dance. We are both the dancers and the dance. We are interconnected through invisible forces, exchanging energy, changing, and being changed through these interactions. It is as if every particle in nature is reaching out to every other particle and engaging in a beautiful dance. We are dancers too in this grand cosmic dance.
Neuroscience provides evidence that music and dance are powerful experiences that enable one to transcend the self and connect to the universe’s rhythm. Music and dance cause patterns of neuronal activity in our brains, these patterns of activity resonate with the rhythm of the universe. It is as if our brains synchronize with the universe’s music through music and rhythmic movements (dance).
